Who we are.
The Rangefinder Studios team is
comprised of a rotating cast of
professional contract designers,
developers, coders, illustrators,
photographers, filmmakers, and even
musicians. This diverse group is
coordinated by Rangefinder founder
Ramey Newell, who hails from the
western deserts and mountains with
more than 12 years of professional
graphic design and photography
experience. What began as a solo
freelance endeavor, Keen Graphics,
quickly grew into a capable design
studio with a robust portfolio and a
flexible team of contract professionals.
As the studio grew, so too did our skills
and available services, soon including
not only print design and photography,
but full-service web development,
social media, video/multimedia
content, e-communications, and
database integration consulting
for non-profits.
By 2018, it was abundantly clear that
Keen Graphics needed a new name
to reflect the diversity of services we
could offer our clients. Rangefinder
was born!
Ramey began her career as Designer
and Production Director at a magazine
company in Bend, Oregon in 2006.
She holds a BFA in photography from
New Mexico State University, a
graduate certificate in documentary
filmmaking from the University of
Colorado, and an MFA in visual art
from the University of British Columbia.
Her editorial photography has
appeared in regional, national and
international magazines, and her
award-winning films have screened
at venues such as
Mountainfilm in
Telluride, Colorado and the
National
Gallery of Art in Washington, D.C.
